This six-hour advanced workshop provides builders, trades, site supervisors, and energy advisors with practical, field-focused training on delivering high-performance, all-electric Part 9 homes that meet Step Code 4/5 and move toward Net Zero Ready construction. Tailored for the Columbia Valley and similar cold-climate regions, the session focuses on real-world installation practices, sequencing, and trade coordination to reduce callbacks and improve performance outcomes.
Participants will learn how to apply building-science principles—airtightness, moisture control, thermal-bridge mitigation, and high-performance window and door installation—to ensure durable, efficient assemblies. The workshop also covers selecting, sizing, and commissioning all-electric mechanical systems; planning electrical infrastructure for heat pumps, HRVs/ERVs, EV readiness, and load management; and understanding Step Code and Zero Carbon performance targets (TEDI, MEUI, airtightness, and key verification checkpoints).
The training provides practical tools, examples, and checklists that builders and trades can implement immediately to improve quality, reduce risk, and deliver consistent high-performance results across projects.
