Kamloops Truss is currently seeking an Experienced Wall Panel Designer to join our team in Kamloops, BC

Position Overview:

Our Experienced Wall Panel Designers are responsible for accurately designing wall panel systems for multi-family and commercial projects utilizing MiTek Sapphire Software. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be accountable for preparing wall panel layouts, design drawings, and quotes, while ensuring that all designs meet structural requirements and building codes. The Wall Panel Designer will also assist in reviewing design work and conducting feasibility analyses related to wall panel construction plans. This role has a strong front-line customer service component, ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about serving the construction industry. We are seeking someone who brings both knowledge and experience to a rewarding design role and is committed to delivering excellent customer service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate wall panel designs and layouts based on customer specifications, building codes, and company standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and installation.
• Utilize design software (e.g., MiTek) to create detailed wall panel drawings and construction documents.
• Conduct thorough reviews of designs to ensure compliance with structural requirements and industry standards.
• Manage multiple projects effectively and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
• Support the sales and production teams by providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Communicate effectively with Sales staff and clients regarding technical aspects of any given project.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in wall panel design within the construction or building materials industry.
• Proficiency in MiTek, AutoCAD, or other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of building codes, structural design principles, and construction materials.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce precise and reliable designs.
• Ability to work independently in a remote capacity, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse teams and clients.
• Strong Microsoft Office computer skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing and logistics operations.
• Post-secondary education or technical training courses in Architecture, Engineering or Drafting.

Job Type: Full or Part Time

Salary: $30-$45/hr. based on a combination of skills and experience

Schedule: 8-hour shift - Monday – Friday, no weekends.
