On Tuesday, February 6, CHBA members from across the country gathered in Ottawa for productive discussions on housing supply and affordability, holding a total of 62 meetings with government officials.
The day concluded with a well-attended reception attended by MPs and government officials, including Katie Telford, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada, and Scott Aitchison, Conservative Shadow Minister for Housing. Peter Fragiskatos, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, also addressed the gathering.
This annual event provided CHBA members with the opportunity to directly engage with parliamentarians on housing issues, reflecting CHBA's ongoing dialogues with the government. The following day, CHBA members reflected on their meetings during a Board of Directors session, considering the day a success. Looking forward, CHBA is eager to continue collaborating with government officials to address the housing crisis.
