Victoria, BC - March 10, 2026 - Representatives from the Canadian Home Builders' Association Central Interior (CHBA Central Interior) joined industry leaders from across British Columbia today for CHBA BC’s annual Day at the Legislature, bringing together 26 CHBA delegates to meet with Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Ministers to discuss housing supply and the challenges facing the residential construction industry.
Representing CHBA Central Interior were Tom Calne, Past President; Rose Choy, Executive Officer; and Brian Charlton, Cranbrook builder and Chair of the CHBA BC Technical Research Committee. The delegation met with government and opposition representatives to advocate for policies that support housing affordability, increase housing supply, and help address the challenges impacting home construction across the province.
Throughout the day, CHBA delegates participated in 23 meetings with 51 MLAs and Ministers, discussing the current housing market and the importance of creating conditions that allow the industry to continue delivering much-needed housing for British Columbians.

These conversations highlighted the importance of collaboration between government and industry to develop practical solutions that support housing delivery, improve affordability, and create a more predictable environment for residential construction.

Following Day at the Legislature meetings, Ryan Kurzac and Rose Choy joined Tom Calne at the CHBA BC Board meeting in Victoria. During the meeting, Tom Calne was appointed as the Presidential Appointee representing the Central Interior on the CHBA BC Board.
