The Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior hosted a sponsor recognition reception last night at the 2026 Training House / Y Dream Home, bringing together nearly 100 industry partners, trades, and supporters who contributed to this year’s build.

Kamloops, BC – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior hosted a sponsor recognition reception last night at the 2026 Training House / Y Dream Home, bringing together nearly 100 industry partners, trades, and supporters who contributed to this year’s build.

Held on-site at the completed home, the evening was an opportunity to thank the many companies and individuals whose support helps make the Training House program possible each year.

“This project only happens because of the commitment from our members and partners,” said Chris Crowell, President of CHBA Central Interior. “The level of industry support we see year after year is what allows us to provide hands-on training for students while delivering a high-quality home that gives back to the community.”

The Training House is a long-standing partnership between CHBA Central Interior, Thompson Rivers University Trades and Technology, and YMCA BC. Now in its 36th year with TRU and producing the 30th Y Dream Home, the program continues to provide trades students with real-world construction experience while supporting YMCA programs through the Dream Home Lottery.

A special acknowledgment was given to Colin Reid, who has been involved in the Dream Home program for 20 years and has played a key role in its growth and success.

The 2026 home is built to Step Code 4 and Net Zero Ready standards, showcasing high-performance construction and the industry’s continued focus on energy efficiency.

The Y Dream Home is now open to the public, with tickets available across British Columbia. Proceeds support YMCA programs that strengthen communities and support individuals and families.
