Building Skills, Careers, and Community
On January 14, CHBA Central Interior was at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) to recognize carpentry students who contributed to the 2026 Training House, highlighting the importance of hands-on learning and industry collaboration in the skilled trades.
During the visit, CHBA Central Interior President Chris Crowell, Second Vice President Drew Atkinson, and the 2026 Training House Project Manager Paul Douglas presented carpentry students with Milwaukee tools to support their continued training and skills development. Lunch was also shared with students from Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC programs, generously provided by YMCA BC.
The gathering marked an important milestone, celebrating 36 years of partnership with TRU and 30 years with YMCA BC—collaborations focused on building Dream Homes for the community while creating meaningful learning opportunities for future trades professionals.
The 2026 Training House is underway at 2257 Coldwater Drive, Kamloops, continuing the program’s commitment to building careers, confidence, and community.
